Matcha Panna Cotta Recipe


Today's dessert is Matcha Panna Cotta.
I put the sweet red bean paste and rice-flour dumplings on the Matcha Panna Cotta. Common panna cotta is rich-tasting because of cream, but this Japanese matcha panna cotta makes us refresh by the aroma of matcha. And also, the taste is light. The sweetness of red bean paste is also not too sweet, so this is Japanese-inspired dessert with gentle taste. Moreover, it is easy to make! Please serve it cold!!

This panna cotta with the aroma of matcha is consistent with the red bean paste, this is certainly Japanese dessert ! It is delicious and healthy!!! How is half-Japanese, half-Western dessert!?

[Ingredient] for 4-5 people
  • Matcha 1 tablespoon (1/2 oz)

  • Sugar 50g

  • Milk 300g

  • Fresh cream (45%) 200cc

  • Gelatin plate 5g

  • Red bean paste (for decoration)

  • Rice-flour dumplings (Siratama-dango) (for decoration)

[How to make]

  1. Put and mix matcha and sugar in a bowl. Please mix a matcha and sugar well. Matcha powder is highly easy to lump when dissolving it in milk, but it becomes so soluble by mixing with sugar in advance.

  2. Make gelatin plate soft by soaking it in iced water.

  3. Put and heat up milk and fresh cream in a pan until it is not hot but not boiling.

  4. Put "1" in "3" after heating, and mix them well.

  5. Squeeze excess off gelatin plate of "2" by hands, put it in "4", mix them again.

  6. Strain "5" with fine-mesh nets.

  7. Put the bowl in iced water, chill it.

  8. Pour itself into a cup. Place the match panna cotta in the refrigerator until it has set.

  9. Put the red bean paste and rice-flour dumplings on the caked the match panna cotta.

  10. The completion of Matcha Panna cotta .

You can make Rice-flour dumplings (Siratama-dango) easily by following recipe below.

Put shiratama-ko in a bowl. Add water slowly until the dough becomes as soft as earlobes. Knead the dough. Make small oval-shaped dumplings. Boil water in a large pan and add the dumplings. Boil the dumplings until they float. Remove the dumplings and cool in cold water. Drain the water and serve dumplings in individual plates.
